About Me

Born and raised in Queens and Brooklyn, Kendrick Zhang is a multimedia artist based in Flushing, New York. Zhang's work primarily focuses on the automotive industry and amateur racing culture in and around New York City. He worked at Crown Auto Center as an in-house photographer and worked with organizations like DaikokuNYC and R2XPO as their media team. He graduated from FIT with a BFA in Photography & Related Media in May 2025.

As someone who’s been a part of the car community for several years, he aims to bring these unseen nights into the limelight with the use of documentary photographs and environmental portraits. By using a juxtaposition of the sizes between subject and background, Kendrick captures private moments of a diverse field of individuals within a vast world. In these portraits, he wants to emphasize the symbiosis relationship between the people and their machines. These people spent countless hours obsessing over every detail of their vehicle’s performance and appearance. Ranging from the everyday enthusiasts on the street to the sponsored drivers for motorsport, these images depict the surreal unseen moments of the automotive community to the public eye.
